Vintage Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Wheel Handcrafted

Description

This is a Tibetan/ Buddhist prayer wheel. This silver hand-held prayer wheel consists of a tapered handle on a central spoke, around which revolves a cylindrical mill head etched and decorated with blue stones. The mill head opens to reveal a thin paper scroll inscribed with copies of the Tibetan Buddhist mantra. A weighted governor on a chain assists the mill’s spinning action, when spun clockwise, the wheel magnifies the adherent’s invocations and blessings.
Length approx 9 inches, top is about 2 1/2 inches.  Made of silver, copper and stones.  Shows wear as it is old.  Top copper finial is slightly bent. Please see all photos.
