It is an additive used in the powder coatings to add a glitter effect to the paint. Or can be used in other type GLITTER applications. You can use this with clear coats or candied powder paints. If you need a glitter type paint, we offer two options: Topcoats which are listed in this listing. Topcoats is a Clear Coat with added Metalflake. The other option is our Disco colors (see our other Pro-Tec listing) have a heavy concentration of Metalflake added to a similar candy color.<br>(2) Most of our powder coatings contain additives that create consistency issues with the powder. For example, some jars may seem fuller than others. Although the weight may be the same, the volume may not. The reason for this is the density of the additives and/or pigments used. Our glows use an additive that is dense and heavier, therefore their jars will appear less full. On the other hand, the pearls use an additive that is lite and less dense giving the jar a much fuller effect. It's like the pound of lead and pound of feathers comparison.<br>(3) As mentioned in Note #2, powders use additives and pigments and each has its own density index; therefore, it is VERY IMPORTANT to shake your powders well before every use. Heavier additives/pigments will settle to the bottom of the jar and unless shaken, you may not get the desired effect in our paint application.
